DIMUN XVI

Optimist's

The

Dilemma

Esteemed delegates, directors, student officers, and guests,

It is with great anticipation that we, the Secretariat of DIMUN XVI, extend a formal invitation to your school to join us for the Sixteenth Plenary Session of DIMUN, which will take place on February 6-8, 2025.

Continuing its 16-year legacy, DIMUN offers an opportunity for middle and high school students, both beginner and experienced, to explore pressing issues our world faces today. With this year’s theme being “The Optimist’s Dilemma”, we invite students to consider deeply how we approach problems in the world.

With this in mind, we urge delegates to confront our pivotal role in shaping the future. This year at DIMUN, we have seven committees to stimulate fruitful debate. More information on committees and the conference can be found in the attachment. Should you have any more questions, do not hesitate to email or contact a member of our secretariat.

We are excited to see your participation in DIMUN XVI.

Committees & Topics

Secretary-General

Kaden Fei

Honorable directors, fellow student officers, and delegates – I am Kaden Fei, Secretary-General for the Sixteenth Plenary Session of DIMUN, Dulwich International Model United Nations conference.

2026 marks my 4th year in the Model United Nations program and 4th DIMUN. It is fascinating how MUN has become such an essential part of me and something truly special. It has allowed me to meet many incredible people, but it has also helped me grow. MUN has allowed me to see outside of my textbooks and provided me with a set of tools I use daily to tackle challenges in my life.

This year at DIMUN, we encourage delegates and student officers to see the world through a new set of lenses, adjusted for “The Optimist’s Dilemma”. I hope to continue the 16-year legacy of DIMUN and to provide a memorable experience for all.

I hope to see you all in February!
